Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

... or not. Good grief, it just isn't letting up here. Today is day NINE of some sort of snowfall. We've accumulated over a foot of snow. I can hear those of you in snowy climes laughing at my whining, to which I reply - the next time the snow plow and/or sander drives by your house, run out and hug the driver. Really.

Portland is severely underequipped for the maybe 2 or 3 snow days we get scattered throughout a typical winter. Nine straight days hasn't happened in over 40 years. The only way my street will see a snow plow is if it's being driven by The Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse. Here's my poor little car, which last saw movement last Thursday. Poor baby. I'm just sooo grateful Safeway is a 3 block walk!

Perspective

Just read Judy's blog where she discusses the -15 wind chill in N. Dakota being a warm up. That ain't right, that just ain't right. I feel much better about our weather in Portland.
I was going to write my big bitch about the weather, but I'm listening to the post office workers getting ready to head out onto our icy streets and sidewalks. I'm very fortunate I don't have any place to be.

Snow in Oregon

What the heck have I been doing for the past month? Working, I'm happy to report. Until this week, when I got a wicked cold. I believe I'll live to tell the tale. It's a nice time to be snowed in at home. We started getting snow at 8am and it's still going now at almost 2:30. I know this isn't that impressive to my friends & family in snowier climes, but we're not equipped for snow here. Glad I don't have to go anywhere this week!

I did pull on jeans under my nightshirt and throw a jacket on over that lovely ensemble to get this for you... my Buddha in the clawfoot tub in our backyard.

Here's Buddha last May, before the lavender was repotted and went crazy.

Today is very pretty but I'll be very happy to see may come around again!
